ANTIFOAM AF 20 may be used as received or diluted prior to use. When used as directed, as food additive, sterile water must be used for dilution. Pre-diluted solutions should be kept under agitation before use. Such dilutions or dispersion may provide greater ease of handling and more effective use of silicone. When evaluating ANTIFOAM AF 20 it is suggested that the evaluation be started at 10ppm silicone. This starting point represents any average level of silicone found to be effective in many applications. Except for food processing use, where the 10ppm concentration is a maximum, these levels can then be adjusted in either direction to determine the minimum effective concentration for the specific system requiring foam control. ANTIFOAM AF 20 can be premixed in the batch during the initial product formulation, or it can be metered into continuous process systems by the use of metering pumps.
